COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- With less than six months to go until the Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina, Team USA is getting its best hockey players together to bond ahead of the games.

Among the 44 players invited to USA Hockey's Olympic orientation camp was Columbus Blue Jackets defensemen Zach Werenski, who has plenty of recent experience playing for Team USA. The camp will take from over two days beginning on Aug. 26 in Plymouth, Mich. as "largely an administrative and team-building event" that doesn't include on-ice activities.

The camp is taking place less than 40 miles from Werenski's hometown in Gross Pointe Woods as the 28-year-old is fresh off the best season of his career. He posted career highs in goals (23), assists (59), and points (82) to put himself among the best defensemen
