NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Stop and Shop will close its North Providence fulfillment center in the fall, according to a statement from the company.

According to the statement, the impacted employees will be offered other career opportunities within the company.

“We will continue to service home delivery orders out of the facility until that time (fall), and all impacted associates will be offered other career opportunities within the company,” said the statement.

The statement also said that the closure will have no impact on local customers who shop online for pickup or home delivery.
