Allen Park — The Detroit Lions delivered some positive injury news Tuesday, activating defensive lineman Mekhi Wingo from the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list.
Wingo, a sixth-round draft pick in 2024, suffered a meniscus injury in Detroit's Week 13 win over the Chicago Bears last season, ending his rookie campaign after 11 games. The former LSU standout was back in pads at practice Tuesday, working off to the side with trainers (mostly cardio) to get back into "football shape."
The initial plan was for Wingo to be ready at the beginning of training camp, but a procedure earlier this offseason to "get something cleaned up in the knee" extended Wingo's recovery period.
