MANHATTAN, NY — Monday — An off-duty FDNY firefighter was arrested in Harlem Monday afternoon on assault charges, following an incident that led to his detainment by officers within the confines of the NYPD’s 26th Precinct.
Michael Diamond, 40, was taken into custody at approximately 4:24 p.m. and charged with assault. Authorities have not released details of the incident that led to the arrest.
Diamond is a member of the New York City Fire Department and was off duty at the time of the alleged offense. The nature of the assault, including whether it involved another city employee or civilian, has not yet been disclosed.
