(WFLA) — A newly released body camera video shows a Southwest pilot taking a sobriety test moments before a flight was scheduled to take off in January.
The video released by the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport captured law enforcement's encounter with pilot David Allsop, whose FAA certification was reportedly revoked about two months after his arrest.
On Jan. 15, Allsop was scheduled to pilot a flight from Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport to Chicago Midway International Airport when officers confronted him around 6 a.m.
In the video, Allsop told officers that he had drunk the night before. When asked about the amount, he said he had "a few beers."
The officers said they could smell alcohol coming off of Allsop and asked him if he would consent to a field sobriety
