RANGELEY - A teenager has been charged with arson in connection with two fires.
The fire at 50 Pleasant Street in Rangeley happened on August 15.
Department of Public Safety Spokesperson Lt. Aaron Turcotte says investigators determined the vacant home had been entered and ransacked.
He says multiple small fires that had self-extinguished were discovered.
Turcotte says investigators identified a 14-year-old male suspect who was already on supervised release for a prior offense.
According to Turcotte, further investigation revealed the same individual was also involved in a separate fire at Saddleback View Apartments on August 9.
The teen was officially charged with arson on August 18 and taken to the Long Creek Youth Development Center in South Portland.
