KANKAKEE COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) -- A 63-year-old man from Texas was arrested in Kankakee County following a drug bust by Illinois State Police this weekend.

On Aug. 16, at approximately 3:24 a.m., an Illinois State Police trooper conducted a motor carrier safety inspection on a truck tractor on I-57 northbound near milepost 302 in Chebanse. A search of the truck tractor revealed 15 kilo bundles, about 40 pounds, of suspected cocaine.

The driver, identified as 63-year-old Dwayne B. Cook of Spring, Tex., was arrested and charged with controlled substance trafficking and intent to deliver a controlled substance, both Class X felonies.

He is currently being held at the Jerome Cobs Detention Center in Kankakee pending his court date. There is no further information available at this time.
