'You just never know, do you?' Neighbours' shock as police raid suspected spice lab and seize 'blank firing weapon'

Neighbours have told of their shock after police raided a suspected spice lab in Tameside .

A man and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of producing class B drugs following the dramatic scenes on Queens Road, in Hurst Cross, Ashton-under-Lyne , this morning (Tuesday). They remain in custody for questioning.

It's understood a liquid used in the production of spice may have been found in the raid on the large detached house . Specialist units from North West Ambulance Service and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service also took part in the planned raid early this morning.

Armed police were later called to the scene after a officers from GMP's tactical aid unit found what they thought was on a gun on the premises, a former library. It was later confirmed to be a 'blank
