Two people at Maryvale High School were stabbed on school grounds on Aug. 19, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
Police said on social media that around 11 a.m., officers were dispatched to Maryvale High School for reports of a stabbing.
The high school is located at the northwest corner of 59th Avenue and Osborn Road.
Officers arrived and found two people with injuries, according to police.
Both of the victims were taken to the hospital, one with life-threatening injuries, according to police. Neither victim was identified.
Police said the school was deemed safe after the stabbing.
"There is no longer a threat to the school and public," the social media post read.
Police encouraged parents to follow the school’s directions for students' release from campus.
