LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Potter Park Zoo’s female eastern black rhino, Doppsee, is in critical condition, according to a social media post from the Potter Park Zoo.

BACKGROUND: Critically endangered rhino at Potter Park Zoo has medical emergency

A team of veterinarians led by Dr. Ronan Eustace has been treating Doppsee for several weeks. They say that Doppsee’s condition has gone up and down throughout the treatment as she seems to respond positively to treatment and then regresses.

This comes after officials say that Doppsee had an obstruction in her digestive system.

Zoo veterinarians say, “Her condition is currently critical as we continue to do everything we can to help her recover.”
