KILLEEN, Texas — The City of Killeen is once again set to honor local veterans through the Hometown Heroes program this November.

The City has announced that it is partnering with the National Mounted Warfare Foundation to highlight local veterans for the fourth straight year.

Throughout the month of November, 60 banners honoring local military veterans will be displayed throughout the Historic Downtown District, according to the City. The banners are meant to honor local active-duty servicemembers, retirees and veterans who have served at Fort Hood at any time.

Applications to have a servicemember displayed on a banner are now open. Applications can be submitted at this link by relatives, friends or servicemembers themselves.
