FORT PIERCE, Fla. —

Harjinder Singh is the semitruck driver involved in a deadly crash on the Florida Turnpike nearly a week ago. He is facing vehicular homicide charges after making an illegal U-turn that killed three people.

Florida Highway Patrol said Singh made the illegal U-turn across northbound lanes near mile marker 171 in St. Lucie County, crashing into a minivan and causing the fatal collision.

Former Palm Beach County State Attorney Dave Aronberg explains these cases involve extensive investigations to make sure everything is right and is prosecuted by a division within the state attorney's office.

"You have attorneys who are focused just in this area to go after vehicular homicide,” Aronberg said.
