BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — The Monroe County Justice Building, which houses the prosecutor's office and county courts and clerks, is closed until Thursday for mold remediation.
All courts in the Monroe Circuit Court are closed. The prosecutor’s office, public defender, probation and clerk offices are closed until Thursday.
The Monroe County Commissioners confirmed to 13News that county workers began remediation efforts and that it started to cause severe disruptions in the prosecutor’s office.
A judge gave the approval to close the courts and reschedule hearings so crews can expedite the cleanup process. Workers right now are working to remedy saturated ceiling tiles.
13News learned an environmental company is expected to arrive Wednesday to remove any remaining mold spots.
