ORANGE, Texas — A West Orange-Cove CISD school bus was involved in a crash Tuesday afternoon when another vehicle failed to yield at an intersection, according to district officials.
Superintendent Dr. Alicia Sigee said the crash happened around 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of 16th Street and Lincoln. She said a Ford Explorer failed to yield the right of way, striking the bus.
There were 11 students and two adults on Bus S2 at the time of the crash. Sigee said everyone from the bus is fine, noting that parents were on scene to pick up their children.
The students were assessed at the scene, and none required transport to a hospital. The occupants of the Ford Explorer were taken to a hospital for treatment, though their conditions were not released.
