LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg is fighting off two lawsuits from fired city employees.

Former Deputy Chief of Staff Keisha Dorsey accuses him of defaming her when she was fired for misusing taxpayer dollars.

Another former assistant director claims her firing was decided during the mayor’s campaign. At the heart of Jessica Thornton’s lawsuit against the city is this claim.

During his campaign, Greenberg cut a deal with the Teamsters union to get rid of her in exchange for their support.

Her lawyer, David Borum, tried to convince Jefferson Circuit Judge Mitch Perry this case is not normal. He said Jessica Thornton was not fired for a real reason.
