JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (WAVE) - The attorney for the man accused of murdering and decapitating a man in Jeffersonville on Friday has filed multiple motions, including a motion to file an insanity defense.
Bryce Winnecke was in court Tuesday afternoon. His hearing was postponed Monday due to a medical issue. Clark County Prosecutor Jeremy Mull is looking at life in prison without the possibility of parole for Winnecke.
“My number one priority is going to make sure that this community is safe and that no one is ever again in danger by Mr. Winnecke or his actions,” he pointed out. “In light of this murder, in light of his conduct in dismembering the victim afterwards, it’s my opinion that he should not be allowed out of prison again.”
