AKRON, Ohio – If going to the Akron Zoo is on your bucket list this summer but you haven’t made it there yet, take note – the zoo is offering Summit County residents free admission in September.

The promotion is part of the zoo’s annual Community Days initiative. Offering free admission is the zoo’s way of thanking residents for their continued support. The zoo started Community Days in 2001 following the passage of the first zoo levy in Summit County, according to a news release.

A limited number of tickets are available, and there is a limit of four free tickets per household. Tickets must be reserved online in advance on the zoo website . Residents must create an account and enter a valid Summit County address to receive the free tickets, according to the zoo.
