PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin ruled outside linebacker T.J. Watt , defensive lineman Cam Heyward , quarterback Aaron Rodgers , and wide receiver DK Metcalf for the team’s final preseason game against the Carolina Panthers .

Tomlin said that those four players will not play because he is comfortable with what he has seen so far throughout practices, and when it comes to some of those players, the joint practice served as substitute for preseason games.

Tomlin hinted back before the Steelers played the Jacksonville Jaguars that he could potentially leave Rodgers on the sidelines the entire preseason, which is what he will do.
