Michigan’s football program received a commitment Tuesday from five-star running back Savion Hiter out of Louisa County High in Virginia.

Here’s what his verbal pledge means for the Wolverines:

- For the second straight cycle, Michigan has landed the top-ranked prospect at an important position. Not only is Hiter the No. 1 running back in the 2026 class , but he’s also a top-10 prospect overall – a rarity for a player at his position. He’s as dynamic as they come and is expected to have a role in Michigan’s backfield as a true freshman next season. The Wolverines are surrounding Bryce Underwood, the No. 1 overall recruit in 2025, with more playmakers, which should bode well for the future of the program.
