HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) - Summer is winding down, and Pennsylvania State Police are cracking down on those driving under the influence.
Labor Day is just days away, and the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) is reminding drivers all over the state to "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over".
According to PennDOT, 106 alcohol-related crashes and 27 drug-related crashes last Labor Day weekend resulted in seven combined fatalities.
Unfortunately, some know this tragedy all too well.
Melissa "Missy" Sweitzer is a traffic safety specialist for Adams and York Counties. She lost her son 16 years ago to a drunk driver. Sweitzer is imploring all Pennsylvanians to make smart decisions behind the wheel.
"Here's the truth, impaired driving doesn't just hurt the person behind the wheel," Sweitzer said. "It sh
