TUCSON, Ariz. — An emergency alert from the University of Arizona has been issued following a stabbing incident at their Main Library.

The incident occurred on August 19, 2025, around 2 p.m.

The suspect, described as a male with long brown hair wearing a navy shirt and grey sweatpants or jeans, was last seen running south from the building.

Authorities have since taken the suspect into custody, and police are on the scene continuing their investigation.

The University of Arizona advises everyone to avoid the area and to follow instructions from emergency personnel if nearby.
