MIAMI — Standing in front of his locker inside the visitors clubhouse Tuesday at loanDepot Park, Nolan Arenado described a sense of progress in his rehab for a right shoulder strain.

Arenado, who was placed on the 10-day injured list on Aug. 1, said he was “making strides” in his recovery while the pain in his right shoulder has lessened. The progress he's made while rehabbing at the club's complex in Jupiter, Florida, has moved him closer to his next step, which could come as early as Thursday or Friday, when he could be cleared to begin hitting.

That progress has helped Arenado in dealing with the emotion that comes with being sidelined because of injury.

“Obviously frustrated, but at the same time, I feel myself getting better,” Arenado said. “I'm just trying to look at the positives
