HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - Holyoke Community College held its first-ever Campus Police promotion and pinning ceremony Monday, marking a new tradition of recognition for the department under recently sworn-in Police Chief Jacqueline Robles.

Four officers were promoted and one was newly hired during Monday's ceremony, where they received badges and certificates after taking the police officer’s oath.

Robles, who became chief in May after more than two decades at the college, said she wanted to bring a more formal and celebratory tone to promotions, contrasting with her experience years earlier when she was promoted to sergeant.
