KANSAS CITY, Mo. (WDAF) -- Crews in Kansas City have been preparing for the 2026 FIFA World Cup that will start in June of next year at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.
To prepare for the 2025 football season, though, every one of the 3,000 seats taken out on the visitors' sideline has been put back, so the seating capacity won't change this summer, fall, or winter.
FOX4 got to look at the visitors' sideline Tuesday in preparation for the Kansas City Chiefs' first home preseason game Friday. Diagonal from the tunnel where the players enter the field, one of the only differences to the eye is the color of the concrete. Where seats were taken out, the concrete is whiter. The seats that did not need to be removed are more gray.
