The Chicago Police Department on Tuesday issued an alert for businesses following two armed robberies over the weekend in North Park.

Two separate incidents were reported. One in the 5100 block of North Kimball Avenue shortly after 11 p.m. Friday and the other in the 3400 block of West Peterson Avenue about 10:30 p.m. Sunday, the alert said.

In both incidents, the robber pulled a handgun on a store clerk, demanded money from the cash register and fled. The robber is described as a Hispanic male wearing a face mask and armed with a handgun.
