RUSTON, La. (KNOE) - Ruston’s first public skatepark is officially rolling forward after years of planning and fundraising.
City officials say construction at the former Memorial Park Pool site is expected to begin within two months and be completed by late 2026.
Funded by more than $1 million in grants, donations and city money, the skatepark was designed with community input and aims to serve skaters of all ages and skill levels.
“This will be a regional skate destination, especially for kids and students in Lincoln Parish,” Mayor Ronny Walker said.
