An Odessa man is facing an arson charge after his sister provided surveillance footage showing him setting a fire on her front porch.
According to an Odessa Police Department report, a 53-year-old woman called police around 2:15 a.m. Saturday to say her brother, Mark Ochoa, 41, was attempting to get inside her house despite being banned from the home on Copus Circle three years ago.
When officers arrived, they found a large burned spot on the front porch covered in water, the report stated.
Ochoa’s sister gave them security footage showing him holding a napkin up to the camera, lighting it on fire and placing it on the front porch in front of the door with a bag of trash, the report stated. It also showed his sister extinguishing the fire.
