President Donald Trump’s threat to end mail-in voting by executive fiat won’t amount to much given the constraints of the U.S. Constitution, Gov. Josh Shapiro predicted Tuesday.

Multiple national news outlets reported Monday that, during a meeting at the White House with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Trump remarked that “we’re going to start with an executive order that’s being written right now by the best lawyers in the country to end mail-in ballots because they’re corrupt.”

Trump suggested the same in a subsequent social media post, adding that “Democrats are virtually unelectable without using this completely disproven mail-in scam,” and also attacking the speed and accuracy of voting machines as opposed to paper ballots.
