A 22-year-old Rehoboth man was arrested and charged in connection with the assault of a pregnant 18-year-old the day before she went missing , but it’s unclear if authorities have found the teen.

Gregory Groom is charged with aggravated assault and battery on a pregnant person, domestic assault and battery and intimidation of a witness for acts he is accused of committing on Aug. 6 against Kylee Monteiro, 18, the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office announced Tuesday.

Monteiro has been missing since Aug. 7, the day after Groom has been accused of assaulting her. The district attorney’s office did not state whether Monteiro is still considered a missing person as of Tuesday, but stated the investigation continues.

Groom is being held without bail and will be arraigned in Taunton D
