One person has been detained in the shooting of a boy Tuesday afternoon in Miami, police said.

Authorities said the call came in shortly before 5 p.m. about a shooting near North Miami Avenue and 31st Street.

The injured boy was taken by a family member to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, police said.

Authorities did not say what may have led to the shooting.

The investigation continues.
