MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Attorneys filed a motion Monday to dismiss the criminal complaint against the father of a Madison school shooter, saying there is no probable cause to determine felonies were committed.

Jeffery Rupnow is accused of two counts of providing a dangerous weapon to a person under 18-resulting in death and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

The charges stem from the deadly shooting at Abundant Life Christian School on Dec. 16, 2024, which resulted in the deaths of a student and a teacher. The teen shooter, Rupnow’s daughter, also took her own life.

Rupnow’s attorney, Lisa Goldman, argued in the 34-page motion that the criminal complaint is defective and it shows a “reckless disregard of the truth.”
