Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Tommy Pham doesn’t back down from anybody.
No matter what team he’s on, be it with the Mets , the Chicago White Sox or any of the 10 teams he’s played for in his 12-year career, if Pham feels disrespected, he’s going to stand up for himself.
After drawing a walk against the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday, Pham flipped his bat in front of catcher Tyler Heineman. As he began his trot to first base, Pham stared Heineman down before finally stopping, turning back and getting into his face, causing the benches to clear.
“Tyler Heineman told us that he didn’t say a word and ‘you’re probably just as confused as I am’ about Tommy Pham and the benches clearing,” Blue Jays reporter Keegan Matheson wrote, via Twitter/X .
