A 26-year-old man was behind bars Tuesday on suspicion of stabbing a man in Fullerton.

The stabbing occurred about 1 a.m. Monday near West Houston and South Roosevelt avenues, according to Kristy Wells of the Fullerton Police Department.

Police apprehended Alexis Gutierrez within about a half-hour of the stabbing, Wells said. The suspect and victim appeared to know each other, she added.

The man was rushed to a hospital. He was expected to survive, Wells said.

Gutierrez was booked on suspicion of attempted murder and weapons violations, according to Wells.
