AURORA, Colo. (KKTV) - A suspect was arrested on Tuesday morning after stealing a patrol car and leading police on a chase, according to the Aurora Police Department.

Police said they were investigating a burglary on Tuesday morning on Oswego Court when the suspect, identified as 31-year-old Brayan Reyes-Bernal, jumped into an empty patrol car and took off.

Officers said Reyes-Bernal led multiple jurisdictions of Aurora police on a 30-minute chase, losing a tire in the process.

The chase finally ended when police said a District Two sergeant struck the stolen patrol car, bringing it to a stop.

According to police, both Reyes-Bernal and the sergeant were treated at a hospital and released. No other injuries or secondary crashes were reported.
