Rep. Ritchie Torres (D-NY) announced his endorsement of Gov. Kathy Hochul (D-NY) in New York’s 2026 gubernatorial race on Tuesday, months after calling her an “electoral train wreck waiting to happen.”
The congressman’s announcement ends his interest in running for governor, although he previously said he wouldn’t enter the race if it meant he had to contend with New York City mayoral front-runner Zohran Mamdani if elected.
