BOULDER — Jason Phillips has been asked the same question all offseason.

“How do you replace the guys that left? Travis Hunter, LaJohntay (Wester), Will Sheppard and Jimmy Horn (Jr.),” the Colorado wide receivers coach explained Tuesday.

When it comes to the people, the Buffaloes can’t. Phillips says as much. But CU believes it can replace the production of that quartet that is in an NFL training camp right now.

Even though the numbers may be jarring — a combined 255 catches for 3,251 yards and 32 touchdowns — Phillips isn’t looking for another four guys to equal that total in 2025. He knows it might take double that, but he’s confident he’s got the horses in his wide receiver room to do it again.
