It didn’t take long for five-star recruit Savion Hiter, the nation’s top-rated running back, to announce his commitment to Michigan on Tuesday during a ceremony at his Virginia high school.

There was no elaborate lead up as Hiter wasted no time revealing his college destination, then placed a Michigan cap on his head and produced a Michigan shirt under his pullover with his family around him. And with that Michigan won an important recruiting battle for running back, now the Wolverines’ top-rated recruit in the 2026 class.
