VIRGINIA, USA — The U.S. Department of Education has placed five Northern Virginia school districts, on "high-risk" status and transitioned them to a reimbursement-only payment structure following a Title IX violation determination related to transgender student policies.

In a press release Tuesday, the department wrote that Alexandria City, Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince William County school districts were found in violation of Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 for "allowing students to occupy intimate facilities based on 'gender identity,' not biological sex."

They were told to change their policies, or risk "imminent consequences" by last Friday.
