WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — A new $18.5 million defense research facility is now open in Warner Robins , just minutes from Robins Air Force Base.

Built by the Southwest Research Institute (SwRI), the 33,000-square-foot building is designed to support military missions by advancing electronic warfare and avionics technology.

SwRI has partnered with Robins Air Force Base for more than three decades, but previously operated only out of leased office space. This marks the Texas-based organization’s first "purpose-built" facility outside its home state.
