ZAVALLA, Texas (KTRE) - The City of Zavalla is undergoing a water shortage.
Part of the water infrastructure is down, causing the shortage, according to Mayor Pam Hooks.
“Please be conservative with water- tanks are getting low again,” the city said in a post. They also added they are handing out water at city hall.
Rep. Trent Ashby (R-Lufkin) responded to the issue in a Facebook post.
“Today, my office has received numerous calls from citizens of Zavalla expressing their concerns with the city’s water supply system,” Ashby said. “As a result, I have engaged local and county officials, as well as the appropriate state agencies, to ensure this crisis receives immediate attention.”
He said access to water was not an issue that could be overlooked.
