NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KTRE) - Nacogdoches City Council voted Tuesday approving a property site to build a new Central Fire Station. Nacogdoches Fire Chief Mike Brown presented a draft design plan shows the Grand Central Fire Station will be located by East Pilar Street.

“It allows us fast access to north on University [Street], to the university, where our higher rise facilities are located in town. Additionally, it keeps us close to the southern industrial properties,” said Brown.

The property will take up three acres of the Clint Dempsey Soccer Complex. Brown said it will help the city save on acquisition costs, because it is already city property.

He said the Nacogdoches Youth Soccer Association was in full support of the proposed site.
