IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) - Preston Ries broke numerous high school records at Monticello as a quarterback. His more than 12,900 total yards during his prep career is an Iowa all-time best. Over the summer, the redshirt freshman set Iowa’s inside linebacker record with a 630 pound squat.

“I was a little surprised. I give credit to all the strength staff for pushing me and all my teammates around me for getting the adrenaline flowing. I’d credit the adrenaline too because some of those reps, I don’t know how I got it up, but I just kept going and going,” he explained.
