Los Angeles and El Segundo are set to host the 2026 Global Esports World Finals Games with the Los Angeles Times Media Group serving as a host partner, it was announced Tuesday.

During a news conference at the Los Angeles Times, representatives of the Global Esports Federation said the two cities were chosen over eight other international cities. The media group is expected to refurbish a warehouse adjacent to the Times building that will serve as an arena where all the action will take place.

The opening ceremony is scheduled for Dec. 4, 2026, marking the first time the games will be hosted in the United States. Previous championships have been held in Singapore, Instanbul, Riyadh, Brimingham and Lima.
