FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - After years in the works and more than $3.9 million from the passage of Measure M, Fresno Unified's Esports League, known as FUEL, is leveling up with a place to finally call home.
"Oh, it's amazing. It's like when you step in here, it's like you're not even at school anymore," said Tehipite 8th grader Emily Sandoval.
The 5,000-square-foot arena was once an old woodshop at Tehipite Middle School.
"This is going to be a hub for our district," said Tehipite Principal Shannon West.
Last week, Superintendent Misty Her announced that this will be a place for students to build their technology skills and will be used for hosting tournaments.
"It's communicating teamwork stuff and everything, and I like to do that," said 8th grader Riley Reynolds.
