The City of Sparks is teaming up with Vitalant to host the 10th Annual Badges Blood Drive on Thursday.
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will take place at Sparks City Hall, located at 431 Prater Way, in both the building’s downstairs training room and in the bloodmobile stationed in the parking lot.
The blood drive is part of a friendly competition between the Sparks Police and Fire Departments to see which agency can inspire the most people to donate blood on their behalf.
Sparks city employees and members of the public are encouraged to take part and cast a vote for the department they support.
“With everyone’s help, Vitalant can ensure a safe blood supply is ready when patients need it,” officials said.
Organizers say each donation can help save up to three lives.
