GREENSBORO, N.C. — Multiple shots were fired in the early hours of Wednesday morning at North Carolina A&T, according to an Aggie Alert issued by the university.

The shooting happened in the area of the Deese Clock Tower around 12:30 a.m., university officials said. There were an estimated couple of hundred people in the area. It was a social gathering that was not organized by the university.

A witness allegedly saw a white, four-door SUV leaving the area, driving southeast at a high rate of speed. The university said two individuals produced weapons and fired several shots, "but there is no evidence they were shooting at each other or anyone else."

No injuries were reported.
