HILLIARD, Ohio — School zones in Hilliard are active again, and police are reminding drivers to pay extra attention.

"We'll be out there in the mornings, when school starts, to be visible to the citizens and to enforce the traffic laws and to help people get safely to schools! " said traffic officer Dustin Gigandet with the Hilliard Division of Police.

Gigandet said a big area officers will have their eyes on will be the roundabout at Cemetery Road and Main Street.

That particular roundabout is right in the heart of Hilliard and has multiple schools less than a half mile away. When you add in a slower speed limit and school buses using the roundabout, the area sees its fair share of crashes.
