A short post from President Donald Trump’s Truth Social platform has prompted trolling from one of his political opponents, while also drawing comparisons to another social media post years ago that became a meme online.
At 9:31 a.m. on Sunday, Trump posted the word “Bela” with no other words or context. The post was still online as of Monday early afternoon.
Observers online analogized the post with a 2017 post on Twitter, now X, when Trump wrote, “Despite the constant negative press covfefe.” Trump later deleted the tweet and posted again with reference to it.
