SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
A police standoff was underway Wednesday morning after a man armed with a knife barricaded himself inside a residence in Downtown Sacramento, officials said.
Officers with the Sacramento Police Department were dispatched just after 2:30 a.m. to an apartment in the 1100 block of 9th Street after receiving a 911 hang-up call. Upon arrival, officers found the caller and a man in a disturbance, the police department said.
The two were separated. The man retreated into an apartment and barricaded himself inside with a knife. SWAT and Crisis Negotiators were called to the scene and were trying to get the person to surrender peacefully. No injuries have been reproted at this time, the police department said.
