Peter Andre has admitted that he found it hard to "let go of the reins" when his eldest children Princess and Junior became adults. The Mysterious Girl singer, who shares his eldest two with his ex-wife Katie Price, admitted to the Daily Mail that he was "very strict" with Junior, 20, and Princess, 18, about what they could do in the public eye. However, now they're adults and in charge of their own career decisions, Peter has struggled to let go. "This is the hard bit, because I have to be honest, trying to cut that umbilical cord at 18, some people let go (more easily)," he shared. "I know I had to let go of the reins a bit, and that it was not easy. It's scary because it's still your baby. "I could have been considered a bit of a strict dad, but I think I'm all right now... I just wanted to be safe and, you know, you try and keep the innocence as long as you can with them, and then, you just got to realise that they've got to live life." Junior made his debut as a musician three years ago, while his younger sister recently made a splash with her own ITV2 show The Princess Diaries. Addressing her new project, Peter told the publication, "I was very strict about what she wasn't allowed to, you know, I didn't want her doing a lot of stuff before she got to the age that she can do it herself." He then gushed, "I'm really proud of her. I think she's a really sweet person and I really hope people see that of her and I just want her to shine and, you know, I want her to just go on and just become her own little true gem." The Princess Diaries has renewed a public feud between Peter and Katie after the latter claimed she wasn't allowed to be part of the show or attend their daughter's 18th birthday party. He subsequently called the claims "lies and baseless accusations". They were married between 2005 and 2009. Peter is now married to doctor Emily MacDonagh, with whom he shares three kids.
